Our Story

Zhao signifies precise thermal tempering;
Zheng stands for unwavering integrity of the craftsman’s heart.
Rooted in a century-old bladesmith workshop in Seki City, Japan,
DRGSKL inherits the time-honored Japanese traditional techniques of quenching and forging.
The blade core is forged from military-grade ATS-34 high corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
The metal grain structure is refined through thousands of hammer strikes,
followed by vacuum cryogenic treatment to secure long-lasting cutting-edge retention.
A matte black finishing is applied to the blade to shield it from water stains and corrosion.
Hand-shaped natural hardwood forms the ergonomic handle,
fastened firmly with solid brass rivets.
Every surface polish and contour calibration is completed manually by seasoned master bladesmiths.

Emblazoned onto the blade is the engraved seal “Zhaozheng” —
a tribute to the meticulous control of heating and tempering processes,
as well as a solemn reverence for ingredients and the culinary art.
Far more than a mere cutting utensil for the kitchen,
this blade stands as an Oriental bladed artifact preserved amid the ordinary bustle of domestic life.
